Customer By Web Form (Dictatorfish soe) said:Good afternoon,
This might sound a bit strange, but I'm at a dilemma. I am very attached to my online handle "Dictatorfish". When I first came up with the alias, "Dictatorfish" didn't exist on Google. For years, searching for "Dictatorfish" on Google only came up with me. "Dictatorfish" was a Googlewhack and I was very proud of that. Every gaming account I have is "Dictatorfish". Both my PSG and SOE accounts are "Dictatorfish".
When I attempt to migrate from PSG to SOE, I'm informed that the username "Dictatorfish" is obviously not available.
Assuming there's no way to merge the two accounts, would it be possible for me to close my SOE "Dictatorfish" account, making the username available to migrate my PSG account? Or would the username still be considered unavailable even after I close it?
Again, maybe this is a very relatively minor issue on paper. And logically I don't know why it's such a big deal for me. But the alias holds a lot of sentimental value for me (again, no logical explanation why). Is there anything that can be done? =/
Best regards,
Dictatorfish

Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment.
Unfortunately once an SOE account has been created, it is permanent and cannot be changed or altered. We can assist with deleting the SOE account [Dictatorfish], however that would not free up the name for the migration process. Deleting the account would permanently close the account and can never use the Station Username [Dictatorfish] in the future and would still remain unavailable. There is also unfortunately no way to merge the two accounts.
I do certainly apologize for the inconvenience this issue may have caused you. I certainly can understand your situation, however there is nothing we can do to free up the SOE account name [Dictatorfish]. If you have any more questions or concerns, please let me know.

There is no logical reason why I'm so upset about this. But I am. ='(
